Fire salamander poorly eye

please could any one help, my sisters salamander has over the last couple of days started weeping a greyish puss from its right eye, does anybody know what it could be and how to treat it any info would be appreciated.

It's not a common problem. If you value the salamander, take it to a vet ASAP. Where do you live (country/state)?
