Hello all! I've been perusing the forums for a while but didn't join until a few days ago when I decided I was ready for an axolotl of my own. I'm so excited. My little freckled Leucistic should be here Wednesday and I can't wait to ogle over him/her. I'm thinking the name will be Ixtli. It's pretty unisex and is the Nahuatl (Aztec) word for face. I'm open to any tips and suggestions you may have. They only real question I have isn't at what size do you introduce yours to their permanent tank? I have a 20long set up and ready but I heard sometimes people keep their juveniles in tinier, bare bottom, 100% daily water change setups until they've grown a little. Mine should be around 3" upon arrival. Thanks in advance.
