Floater...

Ok. He's floating half the time the last day or two (usually holding onto something though) but his body was kinda curled (head down, tail down, back/body up) so he's in the fridge. he *seemed* to be eating alright, but juliet is a little piggy and I can only tell the food he's eaten from what I hand fed.
I'm thinking that his whole tail shrinking thing is due to stress and possible fungal infection due to the damaged tail he had when I got him. So, the big questions...

Is Saxa Salt (aust) OK to use (evaporated sea salt, contains a caking agent, possibly 455? no mention of iodine) to give him salt baths as I want to make sure the tail heals alright.
How many, and what concerntration again (litres if possible, I'm at work and don't have a chance to go thru all the old posts.)
Is a bucket with about 4 inches of water ok in the fridge for him?
How long will he be likely to need in the fridge and how often for the salt baths?
Any other advise???

*worried*

not sure about your salt

2-3 teaspoons aquarium salt or non-iodized table salt per litre or quart

enough to cover him is fine, as long as his feet can touch the bottom when hes floating (if he stops you can use more, i normally use 2x body height)

fridge- till hes better or up to a month

salt baths 1-3 times per day depending on how bad the wounds are

same caking agent is bad. just get the salt from your pet store that will be fine.
