About a week and a half ago i got my first Axolotl then the following Saturday I found him floating. I had alot of speculations like nitrite poisoning since he was gulping for air every now and then and also mabey he wasnt getting enough air cuz his gills are very small. But eventually he came back down after 48 hours of continous floating. But then a couple of days later he went back up. And he has been for about 2-3 days. He has no red or white spots and no fungus on his gills. Water peramiters are fine that is ammonia nitrite nitrate and temprature. From time to time he sinks back down half way and then swims back up to gulp air to keep him floating. He is probably stressed cuz he bends his tail. My theory right now is over feeding cuz i had him in there with a guppie and he probably ate him. And then recently i gave him a big meal and then he started floating. I feed him 2 worms and he is 6 inches. And I'm kinda torn between if its constapation or the gulping cuz the nitrate isnt going up and I think the cycle is about to crash. Otherwise I am compleatly stumped. Any help would be appreciated.
