Food - salmon?

Hi
It's amazing, but here in Brasil is really hard to find pellets and all other kinds of food for my axie. I've been feeding him beef heart, but I wanted to vary a bit. When I read "salmon pellets" as a food option, I thought it was actually little pieces of salmon, which I gave him one. Is it ok, or can that give him a disease? I'm worried.... (he actually liked it)

A little bit of raw fish is OK, but both beef heart and fish are "pure muscle" and not a very balanced diet. I'd suggest earthworms as an another option. Do your pet shops sell brine shrimp or frozen fish foods of some kind?

I think it sells brine shrimp, it's just frozen shrimp, right? I'll research a little more.
Thanks!

Brine shrimp are little tiny shrimp. "Sea Monkeys" are brine shrimp. Depending on the size of your axie you might not want to get them. I have a 5 inch axie and he just ignores them. They are mainly for very small axies. Go to a bait shop and get some "nightcrawlers" they are earthworms that you can cut into like 3 pieces and the pieces will live for a few days to if you refrigerate them. Look for any type of worm for them, but I wouldnt feed meal worms or super worms because they are more aggresive and have strong jaws and their exoskeleton isn't digestible so it can clog up your filter.

You can purchase adult brine shrimp. They're about an inch long.

Confused me too! "Salmon pellets" refers to pellets which are used to feed salmon, not pellets made from salmon!

I did not know this but the salmon pellets from Rangen are made out of anchovies.

From IU web site:
Indiana University Axolotl Colony
Axolotl Food Pellet Information
Axolotl food pellets are made from ground fish (Anchovies) pressed
into a pellet form and combined with important vitamins and
minerals.
We buy our pellets in large quantities from Rangen Inc. and
repackage them for sale to researchers in the scientific community
and private hobbiests because Rangen does not sell their pellets in
small quantities. These pellets are not controlled for Thyroxine
levels. Neither Rangen Inc. nor the Indiana University Axolotl
Colony are responsible if your axolotl undergoes metamorposis after
eating these pellets.
