Heres the scoop:
Ive been using these two types of paste-like food from Tetra, one has water fleas, the other has blood worms. Just a moment ago I compared the ingredients, exactly the same except for one has blood worms.

Which is more nutritious water fleas or blood worms?(keep in mind this is for my youngest axolotls)

It seems like the two products should be the same price but the water flea paste is much more expensive than the blood worm one. Whats the deal?

other facts about the food: (same on both products)
crude protein- 9.0%
crude fat- 1.5%
crude fiber- 1.0%
Moisture- 85.0%
Phosphorus- 0.1%
ascorbic acid- 245mg/kg

Heather - I do not have any experience with the pastes you are using.

I do feed frozen bloodworms to young axolotls so I would go with the bloodworm paste if the bloodworms look bright red and fresh as they do from frozen.

on the box it says that it is more nutritious than frozen foods, so thats why i was so excited about it. the blood worms look a little dehydrated, and not so bright, maybe i will switch to frozen when i use up all the paste.

Do you have a brand that seems to be better than the other?

I've used them before. They are really good foods, but expensive. Because they are not frozen they have less nutrient loss. The same nutritional information is becasue the paste is a nutrient suspension. I don't know why one is more expensive than the other. Water fleas may just cost more to obtain.

I use the frozen gumdrop type bloodworms from san francisco brand. I use them because they are just easier to feed my frogs with.
