Hi! My soon five year old male Axolotl has been bitten twice by his tankmate in the same leg. Some skin got peeled down but it all seemed to heal. But now a little more then a month later it has become more of a wound instead of just peeled off skin.
It hasn't seemed to grow in size or change colour over the last week, but I think there might be some fungus signs though.
But this summer is unusually hot here and even with my AC on all the time I can't get a stable temperature under 24 degrees celcius. Also now he's stopped eating, he bites but then spits the food out again. I've tried different kinds of food, in different sizes, i've put him in a separate bucket and so forth. This has just been for a couple of days though.
I also moved twomonths ago and I've got a new tank, but same filter and since then he's been floating more and more, not unwillingly since he now and then stays on the ground. But it's a changed behaviour. The water levels are normal and his tank mate are behaving as always.
So I'm thinkin if I should check him into the fridge hotel straight away with salt baths because there already is a temperature problem, and to prevent loss of weight since he's not eating? Or if I should try the salt baths only first?
Or something else completely if i'm off track here?
He's really easy to handle, can almost pick him up with and take him out of the tank with my hand only. I love both my axies but must admit that me and this one has a special bond ^^ and I just want him to get better.
