Hi!
My 4 Cynops pyrrhogaster juvies (currently about 8cm total length) eat mainly earthworms and sometimes they get frozen bloodworms. They seem to enjoy both.

I've noticed that the bloodworms don't seem very well digested afterwards - the poo kind of falls apart into bits that resemble the actual worms (but brown).
The produce "nice" solid poo from the earthworms. Is this because of the shape of the earthworm/bloodworms or is this not normal and there is something wrong with either the newts or the food?

The newts seem in good health - 3 of the 4 are now mainly in water, all have good appetite and are active.
Thanks for your help!

Bloodworms have an exoskeleton, and that is what you are seeing in the poo. I wouldn't worry about it. They are probably digesting the softer parts of the bloodworms just fine.
