Hello everyone, I have a little question for you super-experienced people.
Is it possible to have an approximate list of all the newts species which Larvae stay full aquatic from hatchling to adult? Like Pleurodeles Waltl for example.
Thank You very much!

I think most newts will leave the water after morphing given the choice, but some species will adapt to staying in the water more readily than others. In my experience Triturus cristatus, T. verrucosus, I. a apuanus and H. orientalis were very easy to keep aquatic up to adulthood, whereas L. vulgaris and C. pyrrhogaster became very hydrophobic and really needed a terrestrial period to do best.

Thank You, this is a good start :) I'd like to know some personal experiences like yours! I remember i have read something written by you here on Orientalis, if I'm correct. I'm raising 3 of them now and they are still aquatic... Maybe I'll be able to keep them aquatic even after metamorphosis! I think Triturus genus will be my next choice if I manage to find them for sale :)
