I have a young axolotl who I believe got a fungal infection and need help with the step by step on putting him in the fridge properly and doing the salt baths please. 🥺

Hey, hold up. Can you post some photos of your axolotl and their tank? I want to see if it is definitely fungus. Also, is your tank fully cycled? What kind of filter are you using? Do you own adequate water quality testing stuff?

IF you do have a bad fungus issue, I can actually help with the salt bath thing. How old is your axolotl and how long? I have an almost 3 year old adult female, she's big, so the water volume and salt amount is different for her. Do not do a salt bath before you are SURE it's fungus.

Show us your little guy and let's take it from there.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
