I am taking care of an 8-year old tiger salamander for my daughter who is in the process of moving house. I am becoming attached to this salamander and will probably keep him. He is now in a plastic aquarium with a mesh top. I am learning to care for him in regards to food, humidity and cleanliness. I am not certain what kind of soil to put in the dry , but moist aquarium. I now have a "jungle mix" plus some moss. "Sam" seems to lie most of the time under his water dish. I would like directions on how to set up his soil: what exactly to use. Thanks! Genie

I keep axolotls so I can't help you with soil advice but welcome anyway
