hey all! I’ve had my newts for around a year and they laid some eggs a few weeks back and I’m really enjoying raising these guys and would like to get more species and get more into breeding in the future! Some of these things are just preference too but I wanna hear from people who have experience.

• how many species do you keep?
• how many males/females of each species do you keep?
•how many larva/eggs do you keep in general and of each species?
• do you keep each species in groups? Pairs? Which is better?
• do you breed other animals? (Frogs, reptiles etc.)
• is it at all profitable? (I’m more looking to fund the hobby than make much money)
• do you prefer mainly shipping or local hero expos?
• how do you store all your enclosures?
• how do you go about culling if it’s needed?

Thanks!

here’s what I’m doing!
• just 2 species right now (one I only have larva of from another breeder)
• 3 females and 1 males ( I have another female but she did not develop an arm and cannot breed)
• I kept 15-30 from each clutch of eggs, I have around 60-70 larva total at the moment.
• I keep all 5 of my adults in one 40 gallon
• i have pet frogs as well and would like to get into breeding one day
