Gh and ph level question

Hello! New axolotl owner here. Our tap water has a ph of 8 and Gh of 18.
I know that both levels are high for an axolotl. Looking for help on how to lower them safely-or will it be ok to leave as is? Don’t want our baby to get sick.

axolotls are fine with a ph of 8 (no higher though), gh at 18 is fine as it means that there is a good level of minerals present (axolotls are moderate/hard water animals).
tanins and acids (including ph down) can be used to lower the ph and RO can be used but would need to be re-mineralised.
