Hello all,

I was given an old axolotl (very stunted, from the previous owner before the owner that gave him to me) and was looking for any tips that is beyond the basics.

I did alot of research, but the big question I have is feeding. He was mainly fed salmon pellets, but was underfed in the past and therefore stunted. Is there a way I can feed him knowing I am not feeding him too little and too much?

I fed him a tiny red wiggler worm today and he snapped it right up, and I also threw a pinchful of pellets into a petri-dish for him and he has eaten that right up as well. I just dont want to feed him too much!

Thanks!

I can't see the picture, but nightcrawlers are the best food for newts/salamanders. YOu could feed him every day, while he puts on weight.

Thanks! I was wondering how many salmon pellets to feed him quantity wise, too.

IF they are as small as I think they are and he also eats a worm you could put in ten to 20 pellets. As long as he's not throwing up, I think you can be generous.
