Gill Curl shipping stress

Gill curl? what can I do about it? In a cycled tank, with every other day 30% water changes. Yes, I use a dechlor, and no other chemicals. This is after receiving a newly shipped baby, so curl is not caused by my tank parameters, but likely from the shipping stress. Is there anything else I can do to speed recovery from shipping stress?

ok, I think I can stop freaking out now - new mom jitters. she went from the fist pic to the second one since I first posted...they are relaxing a bit more little by little...so I am pretty sure it was just the shipping stress.

What a beautiful baby! I totally understand being nervous at any little thing, it's hard when you're just getting accustomed to the body language and personality of your new pet. I worry all the time about my axie, still!

Thanks, I am so tickled with him/her!! It's also now eaten some brine shrimp, so I think we are going to be fine

I'm glad they are relaxing! I have a recommendation, for bottom substrate I would take out all of the stones and only have fine grain sand. They will try to eat pebbles and rocks and it could injure them.

I have plain playsand in there...I think what you are seeing are alder cones I added to help with the stress maybe?
