Ok, so about a week or so ago I noticed that the guppies I'd put in my 6ft tank with my two axies for food were actually snapping at my golden albino whenever they would try and eat them, like fully coordinating attacks, going up behind poor Yella and nipping his gills! I immediately took them out and put them in my smaller tank and have since then gotten rid of them with just 4 sneaky females managing to hide away from me, since the attack Yella has pretty much just stayed in his dome! Only coming out when I coax him with food and even sometimes that doesn't work I have to full move his dome away from him :/ I've also noticed white bits on his gills, like where his frills (the pink bits) attach to the rest of his gills (the yellow bits??)
. I've been putting melafix in the tank but no change I'm worried about my little Yella! (I've just noticed as writing this that he is out and about )
This may have nothing to do with the situation because I've read neon tetras are sensitive but I got them when I got rid of the guppies, they seemed to be doing fine but yesterday I went away for the day and got two mollies and a few plants and when I got home i noticed they had lost their colour! I melafixed the water when I put the new stuff in and all seemed fine till I woke up this morning to all my tetras being dead!
I do regular water changes to clean up after everyone and put in EASY-LIFE conditioner when I fill the tank up, there's growth on everything which I've read is good(???) and I've tested my water and ammonia is 0 nitrite is 0 and nitrate is only about 0 as well because of such regular water changes. I'm really not sure what's wrong so I have turned to the internet!
