The Initial Vote yielded 6 Grant Proposals that received 2 or more votes. These are as follows:

1. Is chytridiomycosis affecting Appalachian salamanders? - Appalachian salamanders
2. Pandi mushroom-tongue salamander Project: Conservation status assessment of a threatened Andean salamander from Colombia - Bolitoglossa pandi
3. Conservation Genetics of Hellbender Salamanders in New York: the use of mtDNA
   for Population Structure and Diversity Estimates - Hellbender/Cryptobranchus alleganiensis
4. Continued Surveys for the Fungal Pathogen Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis in Georgia Salamander Assemblages - Bd in Georgia, USA
5. Captive propagation of Endangered Guatemalan Salamanders - Guatemalan Bolitoglossa
6. Survey of Chytrid fungus presence on the three species of salamanders in Peru - Bd in Peru

A select group of individuals will now decide which one of these grants proposals will receive the 2009 Caudata.org Grant. The recipient will be selected within the next 7 days.

The committee came to a unanimous decision in selecting number 2 on this list to receive the 2009 Caudata.org Grant: "Pandi mushroom-tongue salamander Project: Conservation status assessment of a threatened Andean salamander from Colombia". The recipient was notified today by Amphibian Ark director Dr. Kevin Zippel.

Thank you to everyone who participated, either by contributing to the grant and/or voicing opinions on each proposal. We intend to make this an annual event so watch out for another AArk donations drive here at Caudata.org this winter.
