Just moved to Northern Haiti near Cap-Haitien, 19 42'50.00"N : 72 15'44.66"W to be more specific, and ran into a couple of large tree frogs that I cannot seem to identify.

This first one had a body about 3" long and was hanging out on my porch last night after a big rain:

This second one I ran into tonight and it was a bit smaller at about 2.5" body length.

Can someone please help me with a species name ?

Thanks
Nick

Possibly Osteopilus dominicensis (Hispaniolan Common Treefrog), a close relative of the Cuban Tree Frog. I'd put money on it being an Osteopilus sp. I'm not 100% sure which one though. O. dominicensis have iridescent eyes like that.

Lestat,

Thanks for that. As I was walking around the house tonight I ran into another tree frog. This little guy is similar but much smalller at 3/4" in body length and its eyes are not irridescent although it does look like a juvenile of the other two. Do you think this little guy is also an O. dominicensis or other ?

Possibly... It's a little hard to tell all these brown tree frogs apart sometimes. :p From the pictures, it appears that they have different shaped noses. That could change as it grows, or could just be the angle. They appear to have the same markings on the face/neck areas. The feet are also the same. Note the eyes in the second photo. It appears that there is just a bit of green iridescence starting to show up.

I'm inclined to say it's the same thing, or very closely related, but the shape of the nose looks more like a Hyla species to me. Have any more pictures of any of them?

Having just come back from a Caribbean island with what appear to be 3 nearly identical looking species frogs but 3 different calls, I would not be surprised if they are indeed two different species, just very similar in appearance.
