Hands into Tank - Declorinator??

Hi
Is there anything one should do before putting your hands into the tank and also if I am adding water to the tank how long does it take for a declorinator to work? Sorry this maybe the wrong section too - oops

You should wash your hands well, and rinse them REALLY well (remove all traces of soap, and then rinse some more). If you're adding dechlorinating drops, they should work instantly. I usually put my required number of drops into my bucket (usually a milk jug) first, then add the water, so it all gets mixed really well.
