I was just doing some animal gazing on Google tonight and I come across a weird pic of a guy standing next to a HUGE salamander. Seems it's a Japanese GIANT salamander that's aquatic nonetheless:eek::eek:! Has anyone else heard of these things? I kinda pride myself on my knowledge of oddball animals and I've never heard of ANYTHING like this! Check out this link!

Yes, I've seen that video before, they made a slight, nitpickable error, Japanese giants aren't the biggest amphibian, the Chinese giant is. Very accurate aside from that though

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
