Oh I am more in love than ever with my little Pinky girl/boy..whatever it is I love him/her.... Tonight, I was feeding them and she was done and started wiggling up the feeding tongs. I put them down and gently put my fingers down in the water next to her/him and she crawled up on my fingers and was sniffing me or giving little kisses, not sure what but OMG such the sweetest thing!! My heart instantly melted...then she just wiggled herself backwards and slid off, gracefully dropping to the floor of the tank. I'm sure others have similar stories but this was the first time for me. I've had my first two babies for two or three weeks now. It's so interesting to see how much bigger they are compared to the two I just got this week.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
