My name is Carole and I found 2 American Toads in a campground in Pennsylvania 14 months ago, took them home, and took great care to provide a safe environment for them. One stopped eating, so I took him to a reptile veterinarian, and was told he had either kidney or heart failure due to the massive amount of fluid which had to be drained. I was sent home with medication for him, but the next day, he was worse. I had to have him euthanized. This totally broke my heart. The other toad is doing great, but I want to know if I should look into getting him some friends. Please help.
