Hello all. I am Desiree and currently live in Florida. I am 29. I had been a keeper of axolotls for many years up until about 3 years ago. Just before I made the move to Florida from Ohio I still had my oldest axie "Flip" who out of the blue and after 10+ years of living with me I found dead. Really no clue what happened. Every thing was as it always had been and he ate a nice big meal just the day before...who knows I think it was really just old age. He was a wild axolotl and was very good size, chunky if you could consider one chunky. LOL Flip and several others I had were purchased at Walmart
It's where I fell in love with them and begged my mother for another aquarium. She actually grew pretty attached to them and instead of bringing home one we brought home 3 which later turned into 18 total. Several of my axies changed over to salamanders and imagine mom let me have another tank to house them
then a sad looking terrarium turned into an awesome tank with a waterfall, river, and swimming area thanks to a really cool fixture that came out...name slips by my tongue? But anyway to make a long story short last I tried to find a new axolotl it was impossible and I still have yet to see one anywhere to purchase in a local store and I've tried to get store owners to find me one so I am ecstatic to have found the organization and hopefully will be able to find a few axolotls to give a spoiled home to. Having had them for so many years I hope to help people with my knowledge and hope just to share some of my old axie stories with you all. Hopefully we'll have alot of smiles together ;p LOVE AXOLOTLS...I need a bumper sticker that says that
