Are they juveniles? My CO morphs tend to hide in group as well.
 
all three are sort of in the transition period between juvenile and breeding adult, i'm 95% confidant that all three are female (on cloaca shape and lack of any signs of the vertebral stripe fragmenting) and the Ommatotriton is a male
 
Just a general question, is the eft stage called the eft stage with all newts. With eastern newts we have red efts, and other newts go through this terrestrial period, but are they too called efts. With marbled newts and other newts that vary their living cycles, how can they be called efts. Just wondering, Alex.
 
I think that is only for Eastern Newt. On the forum we call it a general term as metamorphs/ morphs for all species.
