Hi! Long time lurker first time poster. I'm Amanda, also known as glitter_witch on just about everything. I curretly have two super cute axolotls (The Iron Bull and Ambrosia).

Job wise I'm a teacher and a nail tech, and when I'm not doing that or axolotl related things, I enjoy reading, writing, researching, sewing, and crafting.

My current project is setting up a custom built axolotl wall.
 
Ooh, custom built axolotl wall?!?!? If you mean like a mural I will want to see this.

LOL I meant I was making a wall for their tank! Although now that you mention murals... I might have to do that too!

I'll have to take some pictures later and post them up. Ambrosia (my male) is a cute albino and The Iron Bull, my female, is I'm assuming a melanoid (no shinny bits and no copper ring). The both also enjoy surfin :rolleyes:

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
