Just wanted to say hi! I'm new to the site. I currently have a Chinese fire belly newt that is about 14 years old, and 3 Kaiser spotted newts. I just found the 3 kaiser newts about a month ago at a local pet shop. I'm still learning a lot about them. I'm hoping I will be able to get help I'm this site if any problems should arrive with my little guys.:D

You're in a good state for finding salamanders for sale! GOod luck!

You obviously have good skills, that's old for having kept a newt!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
