Just joined here a few days ago after many, many years of checking out this forum as well as Caudata Culture too!

Little bit about myself that always had a fascination of newts/salamander since I was a little kid catch some Eastern Newts during camping trips. I started keeping newts as pets back in 2012 with my pair of C.Orientalis and then over the years expanded into having at least three different types of newts and salamanders currently.

As of the recent present that I've now been breeding my C. Orientalis and I can't tell you how much this site became handy with crash course in raising these babies!

Do they live on both land and water?

what are they like as pets?

My Orientalis group, 5 out of the 6 live in the water most of the year. The one that sits on land I believe its because he's younger than the others. Hoping one day he might go into the water. My Cyanurus group are all aquatic.

Diet, I feed my guys primarily frozen bloodworms and sometimes they get live blackworms depending on if I have them at the time.

As pets they are interesting? Very similar care that you would for basic aquarium maintenance a feed about 2 to 3 times a week depending. I've had these guys for years and the coolest thing about them is their appearance and that they all recognize me so it sometimes make it really hard to get photos of them.
