I've been lurking now and then on this lovely forum for a while now, ever since I got my axolotl. I love lotls! Mine is a darker wildtype named Lightbulb, and he's such a joy. I finally made an account, so I figured I'd introduce myself.
I just graduation high school and I'm from from southern New England, near the Connecticut/Massachusetts border. I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember and spent a lot of my childhood (and adolescence... And probably adulthood when I get there) exploring the woods catching and releasing all sorts of critters, mostly frogs, toads, and red efts but occasionally a snake or spotted salamander if I'm lucky. I also am happy to care for my goldendoodle Maggie, guinea pig Squeakette, a small bunch of Madagascar hissing cockroaches and dubia cockroaches.
Currently I'm raising some rescue peeper tadpoles and some salamander larvae from a almost completely dried up vernal pool that was about to be bulldozed. I'll probably be posting pictures of the larvae soon, as I'm trying to figure out what species they are.
Anyway, nice to meet you all!
