I was one of the many who had fire-bellied newts when younger. More recently, I spent many hours hiking and loving watching granulosa in the wilds of california, though I recently moved back to NYC. Now I'm looking to have some newt guests as an adult, preferably ones that look like either of those two (which both seem to have nice newt-y personalities I think?), but I'm not sure where to start, or even to learn the different issues or personalities of the different breeds, what's ethical, best practices on how to find cb, laws seem baffling (can newts be shipped over state lines these days, which ones?!), etc. I'm even finding navigating the forum a bit confusing (are there any sections for taricha?). There's some eastern newts for sale near me, but I think I'd prefer a slightly larger breed. Currently in NYC. Any advice appreciated, and anyone who might have cynops or taricha for sale, do DM me.
