My Greg wasn't eating, he hadn't had anything for a week. So I put him in the fridge at 7 degrees Celsius. I've been doing daily water changes for the past 4 days with water that I had stored also, and I came to do it today, and I noticed that he wasn't moving at all! All the previous times he had been kicking around a bit, but nothing today. I took him out of the fridge, put him in some fresh water and then let him sit out so the water could cool down, he still hasn't moved! I'm hoping he's not dead, he hasn't gone stiff or anything, but he's not moving at all! I've never had experience with a dead axie so I don't know what I'm looking for! His legs have sort of curled inwards, and he has developed black colouring on his toes since being in the fridge. I don't know what to do, I can't leave him there, can someone please describe to me how to tell if he has passed?

Take him out of the fridge in his tub and let him warm up- often they slow right down in the fridge. What are your water parameters and can you post a picture?
My axies only ever eat one a week, and they are a nice healthy weight as yours looks to be (yours looks a little skinnier than mine, but not alarmingly so)
Black toes can be a sign of sexual maturity (i think)
I have had axies for several years now, and never fridged one. Even though a few times i got nervous about what might be going on - I think we can be too quick to fridge sometimes. A wekk of not eating is not a problem for a healthy axie.
Last time i buggered up and got a little concerned was when i accidentally overdosed my tank with Excel (plant stimulant) Poor buggers went nuts, floated, one looked gone for sure, lost gill frills - horrible - but after quickly diluting my mistake, changing the water every day for a week or more, and just observing them carefully, they came good and after a couple of short months they are totally back to normal, gills coming back in nicely and all.
They will sit still in the fridge, the point of fridging them is to slow the metabolism of course.
I think you should put him back in a nice cool tank and observe. Axies are a little tricky to set up and get the tank right, but when you do they are so easy to look after and keep happy! I love pet that i can feed before i leave for a weeks holiday, leave a few minnows and guppies in the tank, come back a week later and feed them. Sometimes there are a few guppies missing, sometimes they all survive...... yet the axies are healthy, good weight, and they never seem to miss me.....

I suspect if he hasn't moved in 8 hours, then he may have passed away. Have you tried picking him up to see if there is a response?
