Hi I don’t know if this is the right place to post this but I really need help with my axolotl. He/she is around 3 years old and I’ve never figured out what sex it is and it has a weird brown lump on its face. I looked it up and the internet says it’s common for axolotls to get tumours I’m really hoping it’s harmless but any help would be great. I also read that a salt bath is helpful if also like help with that as it’s very confusing to me. I’ve attached a photo of Jojo.

Whoa, that whole brown lesion is a lump? How long ago did you see this forming? A tumor would not grow overnight but its possible this is a result of an injury if it occurred quickly. If you can, get some more pictures and write down the details of your tank setup and any info about your axolotl you can.

It has been like that for a few weeks not overnight it’s not a large lump it doesn’t go over the surface to much as in it’s not exetremly thick. Jojo lives alone in a 80L tank with sand substrate canister filter and is kept in the corner of a room that gets a small amount of sunlight but not enough to bother him. Hope any of that helps he doesn’t seem any different in personality he still has an enourmous appetite and is still very active at night. Really hope someone can help

Im just "bumping" your thread so that it appears more recently in the forums and has a better chance of getting seen and answered by someone who can help.
