I have a younger darker colored axolotl, and, shes turning white, shes been tubbed for a few days and she only started turning white, what should I do?! I cant supply a picture, but.. im concerned for her. And need tips. I change water once a day.

Edit: I FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM. I had her in a white bin, so her skin adjusted to blend in with it. A big sigh of relief comes from me this day.

axolotls aren't like Chameleons which change colours to suit environments or mood, the change in colour can be due to genealogy, if she is getting pale test gh as low mineral level can cause anaemia, also ensure adequate oxygenation even whilst tubbed.

Well, her color changed back once I moved her into a different, clear bin, Shes acting a bit sluggish, as for some reason my nitrite spiked, so, Im treating her for Nitrite poisoning unfortunately. I have a almond leaf in with her. Ill update this on her behaviors. If she gets more sluggish, ill fridge her. (My cycle is whacked up for some reason, so treating the tank more..)

nitrite affects the blood so it can cause a change of colouration, use methyline blue to treat nitrite toxicosis.

half the recommended fish dose (has directions on bottle) should turn water sky blue (same colour as zero nitrite test)
