in my usual petshop there are a news bufo camboianus, but the man dont know nothin about,

i dont have found any info about this specie, and i need info, about temp. and breed difficult

thanks, im waiting you:confused::proud:

I can't find that species name anywhere except on a few Spanish language sites. I suspect that's not its real species name but I don't know what the real one is. Sorry.

The name implies it's Cambodian, and AmphibiaWeb lists these species as native to that country:

Bufo galeatus
Bufo macrotis
Bufo melanostictus
Bufo parvus

Yeah, don't trust the scientific names. I saw a pixie frog scientifically labeled Pixus bufo in a Petco.

Bufo galeatus has recently been on the pet market (supposedly from Vietnam). I would have thought a damp forest floor vivarium, at 'room temperature' (so around 24 deg. C) with leaflitter and a few plants like ferns would suit it, although I am no expert.

ooo:eek:, thanks, i think its same to bufo galeatus, so...¿what do you think about breed it, hard or easy?:confused:

Most Bufo seem to need a large terrarium size to breed successfully, as they need to have a migration. I would have thought that mimicking the dry and then wet seasons with humidity, spraying and feeding regimens, perhaps with a flood simulation in a rain chamber might do the trick. There are some guidelines for other Bufo at this site: http://www.bufo.de.vu/ that may help.

Good luck, and keep us updated with any successes

Chris

Yeah, don't trust the scientific names. I saw a pixie frog scientifically labeled Pixus bufo in a Petco.

Employees at Petco make up names when they don't them. I once saw a swift labeled Swiftus sp. I guess if you add an "us" to any word that makes it automatcally a scientific name. LOL
