Help!! Discolored Axie

I just noticed today that my axolotl, Sage, is very pale and his pink gills now look grayish. I figured this could be due to a water issue as i read about it and i changed water immediately. I hope this helps him but is there anything else i should be concerned about? I dont want him to be sick or die. And this is new and very scary to me. He is a little over a year old. He also has no injuries. I need all the help and advice i can get so i really appreciate u all.

Check your parameters. Is he pinkish? This could be ammonia or nitrate burn. Is he pale? This could be bad pH.

if you can check kh gh as it can be anaemia due to low minerals, this can be treated by using calcium, magnesium and potassium, also pay particular attention to nitrites and nitrates as high levels can cause a condition called brown blood where there is a lack of oxygen in the blood, this can be treated using methyline blue
