Hi, im panicking because I have no live food to feed the baby axolotls. It has been 2 days. So i crushed a pellet. Did not work! then wiggled bloodworms no result. My bbs have not hatched! HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!

How long ago did you set up the brineshrimp hatchery? If it has been long then there might be something wrong and you should set up another one. Here is a very good tutorial: Brine shrimp hatching and harvesting tutorial.
The babies won't eat the pellets, because they only really react to movement. And bloodworms are too big for them to eat at first.

I set it 2 days ago. And could I cut them up?

Like you I have had no long with my brine shrimp hatchery. I have 3 week old babies and have been feeding them on ocean instant baby brine shrimp which you can get from the pet shops in Australia. I have just started my bigger babies on cut up bloodworm which they take well. The instant BBS isn't live but I had no trouble getting my guys to eat it. Good luck

Ok ill take a look today and get back to you thanks

You can fridge the hatchlings, it will slow down their metabolic rate giving you a bit more time to source suitable food.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
