Help - My babies are sick

Jovi and Bon are sick. Ammonia, Nitrite and PH are fine. Nitrates are too high. I don’t know why. I have been doing daily water changes (about 20%) for a week with no improvement. They are hovering between 40 and 80. I noticed there was a problem because jovi was spending all of his time under the filter and Bon won’t eat.

I had heard that axi's can get bored of a particular food after a while, so I tried switching them from beef heart to live bloodworms and I also tried frozen bloodworm pellets. Neither of them would eat either.

Now Jovi is shedding his skin and Bon still won’t eat.

I'm so worried about them. Any advice would be much appreciated.

well, according to my test kit book, high nitrate levels wont kill. so thats nothing to worry about.

im not quite all that sure what you mean by sick. how are they sick?

axolotls do tend to stop eating time to time, have you tried live food? like earthworms? they are good choices and axolotls need their food to move foe them to show any interest.

my axolotls like to spend time under the filter as well. and kenghis is shedding too.

well, thats all i can do to help. hopefully someone else can help you more (like kapo)
