Illness/Sickness: HELP not sure if its an emergency or not!

Moomin has had a new tank, new sand and new filter. I've made him a little cave from his old hideout and sand. He's gone in and eversince hes been in the new tank he acctually hasn't come out. Even with the light off. I'm not sure if hes eatten, the food hasdissappered but it could have been sucked into the filter.

The water is half his old water and half new water, his gills still appear to be curled.Temperature is as he usually has it and there are noother occupants.

I have noticed a little red "growth" on his side. I can't get a picture because he wont come out but its about 1mm circufrence, not getting bigger or anything.

Any ideas?

You may find you need to take him out with a net and into some fresh dechlorinated water. Then you can properly inspect him, and if you are still concerned about his 'growth', take a photo to post here - and pop him in the fridge with a salt treatment

Given the stressful nature of salt baths I wouldn't recomend doing it until you know for sure it's fungus. Red "growth" doesn't quite strike me as fungus.

By the way Moomin, do you have any updates or did I miss it anywhere?
