Hi, our Axolotl appears off his food (won't touch dendrobaena worms or pellets). There looks to be a bit of stuff coming out of his bottom (see attached photos). He isn't being particularly active. We got him about nine months ago. He's a bit of a dwarf I think, but other than that we've had no issues with him until now. Parameters in his tank are all normal. Any advice? I'm a total axolotl newb.

Diarrhoea? Otherwise, I have no idea what’s going on there. I’m an axolotl newb too. If it gets any worse maybe take him to an exotic vet. I hope he gets better soon.

Hello, is your axolotl eating? This could be impaction but I am not an expert. Hopefully wolfen or axolotlnerd will see this thread. Also, what's in the tank? Plastic plants? Rocks? Gravel? Pebbles? Anything of the sort could cause impaction. Hope your little dude is doing ok regardless what it is.

I think you will get more answers to this from the breeding section as it looks like a leaking grumpy male. keep trying food leaving it in over night and cleaning it the following day as he might be more inclined to eat at night.

Go with what wolfen tells you.

Take things AxieFrankie says with a grain of salt. I don't mean to sound mean to another user on here but she has stated in one thread that keeping her own axolotl (which is literally the cutest axolotl I've ever seen, I love her axolotl Frankie a lot!) at temperatures of 25-29C might be a "little high" but not too concerning for her. IMO, it's just animal cruelty.
