A couple of days ago my axolotl had a patch of skin on her side that was coming off. At first I just thought he had gotten nipped by one of my other axolotls so I just kept her separated until it came off completely and started to look better. Well about a week after that my male axolotl had a white patch pop up on his side, up towards the top and it does not look good it all. It is not going away with isolation and daily water changes. I’m not sure if it’s fungus or not but I am incredibly worried. He is an albino and the tips of his toes are turning brown and he has very prominent bred spots all over his back near the white patch. They are both 2 years old and have never had ANY issues like this. They have also been together since they were just months old so I’m pretty positive it’s not anything they got from one another.

This needs veterinary treatment. The red spots may be sepsis.

Now for a pile of questions :)
Could you tell us what else you have in the tank? What do you feed your axolotl? Have you added anything new to the tank? What is the temperature of their water and do you know the water parameters? These questions may help us pinpoint the problem. But regardless I do stress that this needs veterinary treatment.
