matt:confused:

Hi there just posted some pictures in the album section couldnt work out how to put them in the thread.

What kind of 'problem'? A description of the issue would help as well.

Sorry, all the gills have seemed to wither up, and what looks like scab thats the best i could describe it.
cheers
matt

What are your water readings..ammonia, nitrate, nitrite and water temperature?

hi there the nitrate is about 20ppm, the amonia was around 1 and the nitrite was around 1 ppm also ths axolotl is part of 5 given to me a few days ago. Should i do a complete water change with ro water or just a partial whats your opinion.
there one also in the tank with him should i separate them.

cheers matt

Hi Matt

Two things, It is a good idea to quarantine any new addittions for 30 days before you add them in with your axolotl. Also your water parameters indicate that you need to do some partial 20-30% water changes this should be part of a weekly tank maintenance routine until you are certain your tank has cycled.

Thanks
These are part of a new five i was given in tanks with water. So they are in pairs as i got them. I have done water changes. one new problem is my tanks are raising to 21 degrees at room temp any idea how to try to cool them. It seems to raise in the day and drop at night would this cause stress.
cheers matt

In the UK even though the temp is going up and down right now, it is only a slow change in temp so won't stress out your axies. I've found a fan blowing over the top of the tank can cool the temperature down by up to 6 degrees. Don't worry too much about 21 degrees, when it gets to 24-25 degrees you really need to be on the ball with cooling methods.
