Hi,
I'm in the mid north coast of NSW, Australia.
When I was a little kid I had an Axolotl that lived about 7 years and grew into the biggest one I have ever seen even to this day, about 30-35cms long.
I unwittingly broke all the rules, had him on gravel, feed him all sorts of critters straight from the creek, hot water, you name it.
I must have been lucky, and back then no one knew much about "Mexican walking fish".
My old man still goes on about "Mex" at family gatherings.
Anyway, years down the track my youngest son has said he wants one, so I'm setting up a tank for him.
With the event of the internet, I'm doing a bit more research and plan to do it more "correctly".
I also hope to breed them successfully.
I still plan to feed them "critters" though..."Mex" always looked happiest with a worm or fish tale hanging out of his mouth.
I look forward to sharing information on this forum.
Cheers,
