[FONT="]Hello everyone! My name's Harley and I have two lovely Cynops cyanurus newts (blue-tailed firebellies) named Zuko and Iroh. They're both about three years old and I've had them for about two years. Zuko was my first pet and I got her as an unsexed babe. When I decided to get her a companion half a year later, I didn't want them to breed and I saw blue on her tail. Deciding she was a male, I bought Iroh - a male of the same species. About a year after getting Iroh, Zuko started laying eggs. At the time, she wasn't laying anything fertile and they were good about eating the eggs. Well, a month before I could move and separate them, I noticed that they had left a few of the eggs alone. Upon closer inspection, they were fertile! It's been about 5 months since then and of the 16 fertile eggs, 10 of them have made it this far. Currently, 4 of them are showing signs of metamorphosis and they're doing great. I have no idea what I'm going to do with 12 newts but I signed up with this website to hopefully get some tips about raising the little ones more efficiently and maybe finding some good homes for them.
