Hi there, I am new to this site, but had an axolotl years ago when I was in my 20's. I have, within the last few years, gotten back into my lifelong passion for aquarium fish and critters. I own/run a local FB group for aquarists. Looking forward to refreshing my memory and learning new things about these guys - back in the 90's the internet was not as abundant with info, so I had to learn about my axolotl the hard way. I had him for several years until after a bad breakup I moved back with my parents and finished college in a school closer to my hometown. I currently have 11 aquariums up and running as well as one small rescue dog, Jake. I have spawned and raised a few species of freshwater fish, and am interested in perhaps hatching some axolotl eggs in the near future, once I feel I have refreshed my memory on proper care....microfoods should not be a problem since I maintain cultures for my current fish. I am already shocked at how many color morphs I am seeing are possible, back when I had my fella only wild types were available - at least to me. And, I only saw them for sale the one time. A friend had a local fish store and ordered some on a whim - this is where I obtained my baby...he was around 4 inches.
