Hoods vs. screen

Lots of people here say use screen lids instead of hoods. I currently use hoods for the lighting purposes, but If I wanted to use a screen lid to reduce heat, how could I light my tanks (for aquatic species)

Just take the light off of the hood.They usually aren't attached.Then put that on top of the screen.Or if they are attached in the models you use, you can buy fluorescent light fixtures all over.
