Hi all! I’ve been keeping two Spanish ribbed newts for a while and have been having a great time! I recently decided to order some leucistic ones too, however when they arrived they have come very very small, like the size of my original ones tails. So my question is, will the adults hurt or attempt to eat the younger ones? Currently I’ve set them up a smaller temporary grow out tank

Thanks in advance!

Salamanders eat other smaller salamnders all the time, dont do it. And if it gets lodged, they both die.

I wouldnt mix sizes with that species, they are aggressive feeders and i think theres a chance of accidental injury rather than deliberate predation. You can mix certain species size wise, alpine newts for example.
