My Spring Peeper, Pseudacris crucifer (recently caught), would probably eat one small cricket per day if I fed it one each day. I don't want over-feeding problems which has been demonstrated in Gray Treefrogs (Hyla versicolor), such as fatty buildup in the eyes, leading to part of full blindness.

How many small crickets should I feed per week? I think crickets are a bit less expensive in the long run than flightless fruit flies.

I suggest heading over to John's other site, FrogForum for this one. The crew over there really knows anura diet like we know caudate diet.

I think I have an ID there but don't use it often. I do go to talkto.thefrog.org frequently.

Is the site at frogforum.net or frogforum.com (or frogforum.org)?

Must be frogforum.net, because that is the only that works.....

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
