i received my baby axolotl in the mail today, and it’s about 3 inches. i’ve seen information on how many times a day to feed babies, but never how much. for example, would i feed it 1 small nightcrawler or 2? or do i just feed it until it’s not hungry anymore? i can’t find any info online about it. also, i’ve noticed that my axie goes up for a gulp of air about every 30 minutes, and usually does it a few times in a row when it does it. is that normal?

personally i'd feel it till it didn't want anymore. it will need all the food it can for growing and they do grow fast.
as for air gulping make sure your water is oxygenated by having a air stone in the tank.
if a air-stone is already in the tank check your water parameters, as they will gulp if the water is bad.

thanks, i’ll buy an air stone right now. i’ve been testing the water since i started cycling and at the moment all levels are good. also, is it normal for it to have less of an appetite the first few days after coming in the mail?

yes it's normal to have a lack of appetite.
I assume you aren't cycling the tank with the axolotl in it
