Hello all!
I'm hoping to get a quick answer as to how to sanitize used aquarium plants. I have a friend who works at a pet-shop and they recently purchased a new building and are moving the store over there. Well they were cutting back on supplies to make the move easier and my friend gave me some aquarium plants that they had stored away.
I'm not for sure if they're used, but I don't want to run the risk of getting my axie sick :(
Does anyone have any solutions? I keep seeing online to boil it with water and bleach, but I highly doubt that can be safe for an axie, especially since plastic is porous.

dilute chlorine bleach in cold water. Rinse in regular cold water. Rinse again in cold water with dechlorinator.

Ahh, thank you for the help!
I'll try that later today :)

Vinegar washes work well for decor, but I haven't tried it on plants. I only have real plants in my tank and when I introduce new plants I do a potassium permanganate dip. It might work on fake plants, but as I said I don't use fake plants.

Ohh, I didn't even think of vinegar! I shall do that with my next set of plants as I think he's giving me more. I have a mix of live and plastic plants since it's a little harder for me to find nice live plants where I'm at plus I'm new to planted aquariums so I'm so still learning how to fertilize them without harming my axie.
