I’ve recently gotten a bunch of eggs! My axolotl are apparently happily in love! I found a heck of a deal on tanks at petco! Perfect timing! I bought 4 new tanks and set up one( I only had one spare sponge filter cycling) I’ve bought new sponge filters, I’ve got them cycling in my established tanks, I’ve moved the eggs carefully into the new cycled tank. I’m watching the eggs and comparing them to the photos I’ve found, they seem to be progressing right on schedule! I’ve ordered brine shrimp eggs, and will have the other spare tanks ready in about a week or so. What else do I need to do? I’m so excited to start this journey! (Unexpected). Lol but still excited! Mom is a gfp and dad is leusistic. I suppose they are comfortable and happy. Any advice will be appreciated. The guy at the speciality fish store was full of bad information so I need some help. I do not wish to hurt these babies!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
