I went to Capital Aquarium today and guess what? They had four little Axolotls, they were so cute and small! There were two Albino Golds, just lovely, and two I think green wild type. I want to wait another week for my tank to finish cycling, and I thought perhaps they could hold one or two for me, but then they told me how much a piece each was..........$40! This other pet store has offered to find some for me for only $15 a piece! What is going on? Why is there such a price difference? Even the green wild types were that much. I know my tank is off to t a good start, and I could have purchased them and they just hold them for another week, but I thought $40 was a bit much, and they didn't have the Luecistic ones I wanted, but the gold ones were just out standing! they were very, very healthy looking, and they weren't on display yet. I was given a special tour of the back to go and view them because they had called me earlier about them. a worker there asked a lot of professional questions about water quality, a lot of the questions I wasn't sure how to answer, and he even showed me how to test water! I had him show me because i wanted to make sure, and also I wanted to really make sure that they were taken care of there. so I know that those Axolotls will be taken well cared for at that pet store. I juts don't think I can spend $40 bucks for just one. I am going to wait until the other pet store calls me bcause I know by that time my fish tank will really be doing a lot better. I am so glad that I went there today because i wasn't sure if I was doing it right and the worker taught me a lot, of which water testing kits are the best and which aren't, so I am going to order a super testing kit from bigalsonline for the future. He really knew a lot, and I was so very impressed! He asked what I was using to help the bio prossess, and i told him a little gold fish. He also suggested feeding the fish only once a day from now on because my tank is almost finished Cycling! I should have told him about this site, because he really seemed to like the Axolotls too. My husband, who thinks they are creepy looking in pictures thought they were just great looking in person, that they were so cute! Adn they were! Just so tiny, not even 3 inches long I don't think. He said that they wil not be on display for another week, that they can't hold them more than 24 hours unless I pay, but since they won't be on display, i doubt anyones going around looking for them. So guys, is $40 a bit much for just one? Compared to $15? Any advise on that?
